December 19, 2013 – The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) recently released its international rankings of student performance by country. Per usual, the US fell right in the middle of the pack.
The rankings are based on the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) survey, which is administered every three years to 15-year-old students in numerous countries worldwide. Each survey tests students’ competency in one of three key subjects, namely reading, science and mathematics, which was the focus of this most recent round of testing in 2012.
