The Global Education Coalition is a network of NYC-based organizations whose primary objective is to support educators in the New York metropolitan area in creating globally competent youth for tomorrow's future.
On March 5th, the GEC-NYC hosted an evening of discussion, refreshments, and Global Education Resources with author and journalist Elizabeth Green.
In her 2014 New York Times Book Review Notable Book Building A+ Better Teacher: How Teaching Works (And How to Teach it to Everyone), journalist Elizabeth Green took an eye-opening look at what exactly makes teachers great. At this event, she shared the findings from her investigation, both in the U.S. and abroad. Audience members had the chance to hear from Elizabeth Green in an intimate setting and engage with her as well as with two New York City teachers profiled in her book -Andy Snyder, Social Studies, Harvest Collegiate High School and Rousseau Mieze, History, Achievement First, Bushwick.
At the event, attendees also had the opportunity to access free classroom materials from the organizations of the Global Education Coalition – New York City (GEC-NYC) and network with GEC-NYC members and other educators. Hope to see you at another GEC-NYC event soon!
