The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA), a program of the United Nations Foundation, is a membership organization dedicated to inform, inspire, and mobilize the American people to support the ideals and vital work of the United Nations.

For 70 years, UNA-USA has worked to accomplish its mission through its national network of Chapters, youth engagement, advocacy efforts, education programs, and public events. UNA-USA and its sister organization the Better World Campaign represent the single largest network of advocates and supporters of the United Nations in the world.


Nationally – in collaboration with the network of UNA-USA Chapters across the country. Internationally – in partnership with the World Federation of United Nations Associations.


Middle School Teachers; High School Teachers; Educators interested in global citizenship education, learning and teaching about the United Nations; 12-18 year olds; students in grades 7 through 12 and Model UN teams, clubs and advisors.


Geared toward teachers and educators, the Model UN App Curriculum provides step-by-step instructions on how to engage your classroom or after-school program in this significant experiential learning activity. Without prerequisite knowledge of the United Nations or Model UN, students become diplomats and learn leadership, critical thinking, conflict resolution, cross-cultural understanding, problem-solving, public speaking and more.

The Model United Nations App Curriculum features:

 60-minute lesson plans on topics like climate change, poverty eradication, gender and science, and the Zombie Apocalypse;

 Activities aligned to standards in global competencies, college and career readiness, English and language arts, social studies, math and more;

 Detailed instructions on how to conduct classroom simulations;

 Resources and country backgrounds on each topic;

 A calendar of events for Model UN conferences and other multilateral events happening throughout the world;

 PwC’s Earn Your Future and the Economics of Globalization Financial Literacy Curriculums;

 Live feeds from the UN, UNA-USA, and the U.S. State Department; and

 Low tech options — with the ability to print out hand sheets, background guides, placards and more.
